17,000 STATION FORCES, Winnipeg, MB, R3J 3Y5, no later than
September 15, 2024.
Note: The Honours and Awards Committee reserves the right to withhold the award if the academic standing of candidates is not sufficiently high when applicable.
Manitoba Scholarships
(Sept 15, 2024 Deadline)
$5000 award
This award has been graciously funded by the Lieutenant- General G. Allan MacKenzie Estate.
Lieutenant-General MacKenzie held the position of Honorary-Chairman of the Manitoba Provincial Committee of the Air Cadet League of Canada from 2010 until his death in September of 2012.
The bursary is awarded on the basis of Secondary School or present institution scholastic achievement, combined with outstanding performance as an Air Cadet. The amount of the award will be determined annually. More information on this award is available in the By-laws Policy and Procedures Manual Part 3..
$1500 award
One post-secondary education scholarship, graciously funded by the Murphy Family Foundation, is available.
The scholarship is awarded on the basis of Secondary School or present institution scholastic achievement, combined with outstanding performance as an Air Cadet.

Two $1000 awards
There are two awards named in honour of former air cadets whose lifetime achievements are of the highest order. The amount of the award will be determined annually. Each applicant will be considered for all awards, but a recipient may receive only one award.
The bursaries are:
- The James E. Downey Squadron Leadership and Community Service Bursary,
graciously funded by Jim and Linda Downey; - The Al Simmons Squadron Leadership and Community Service Bursary;

$1000 award
The Lohn Foundation awards a bursary to a Manitoba First Nations Cadet who has demonstrated a strong commitment to the Air Cadet programme and who demonstrates leadership, knowledge, and the ability to work with and for his/her subordinates.
$1000 award
The Mark Delmage Post Secondary Scholarship is sponsored by the Delmage Family.
$2500 award
The Ross Robinson Continuing Flying Scholarships Are awarded from the Robinson Family Foundation and are given to cadets pursuing a Pilot's Licence.
Music Bursary
$500 award
The bursary will be awarded to a qualified Manitoba Air Cadet to study music in a bachelor level program at Brandon University or the University of Manitoba. The amount of the award will be determined annually.
Greg Lindahl graduated from 6 Jim Whitecross RCACS with his Glider Pilot Wings. He served as an Instructor at several squadrons and summer training locations as well as universities and colleges throughout North America. He also was a Director of the Air Cadet League of Canada (Manitoba) Inc. until his death on March 28, 2014.

OTHER (Not from the Air Cadet League of Manitoba)
MANITOBA AND REGIONAL SCHOLARSHIPS
Two scholarship awards are available to Manitoba Air Cadets with a passion to pursue a career in an aviation related field. These scholarships can be used toward post secondary education in an aviation related discipline, the pursuit of a private pilot license, or continuing flying in the pursuit of a commercial license.

The Winnipeg Gliding Club is excited to announce the first year of the newly formed Manitoba Soaring Scholarship, open to any graduated Manitoba Air Cadet holding a Glider Pilot License or having achieved glider solo status, age 18-25. The value of this Scholarship is set at $1000.00 per year and will allow the successful applicant up to 10 advanced instructional flights in our modern 2-seat sailplane.

The The Manitoba and Northwestern Ontario Command of the Royal Canadian Legion is pleased to offer Scholarships to students with the highest average marks. Applicants must provide proof or registration in a school of higher education to pursue studies leading to a degree. Bursaries are also offered for award to students who can demonstrate need of assistance. Awards will be made to Manitoba students who are continuing on to higher education.

The Hubbell Awards Incorporated is a small charity whose mission is to provide scholarships to cadets currently enrolled in a Manitoba unit who will continue their education at a civilian technical institute, college or university.
The program currently provides eleven $1,100.00 scholarships distributed among air cadets, sea cadets and army cadets. The distribution of the scholarships is based upon the number of youth enrolled in each element and the number who age out and qualify for post secondary education. As the Trust Fund continues to grow, so will the number and value of the scholarships.

For over 25 years, the COPA Neil J, Armstrong Scholarship has helped open doors for the next generation of aviators. The scholarship, created in honour of Canadian Aviation Hall of Fame inductee Neil J. Armstrong, financially supports flight training to aspiring aviators
